Two-base hits--Murphy, Risberg. Sacrifice hits--Weaver, Schalk. Double play--Lavan to Morgan to Judge. Left on base--Chicago 8, Washington 10. Bases on Balls--Off Johnson, 1 Off Williams, 2. Hit by pitcher--By Williams, Morgan. Struck out--By Johnson, 9, By Williams, 4. Wild pitch--Williams. Passed ball--Ainsmith.

The winning run scored on a passed ball after Johnson singled his catcher from first to third. Each team used only nine players (which was more common in those days, but still remarkable enough in such a marathon for the papers to note). Neither side was marked for an error, though there apparently was some deliberation by the scorer.

Is that later-to-be Brooklyn manager Burt Shotton?

I know you're trying to be funny, but man...

You're more on the mark than you think. Gandil was the ringleader of the Black Sox.

He was also a cleanup hitter with a .650 OPS.

Johnson had it easy since Shoeless Joe wasn't playing.

Ainsmith isn't credited with his run.

I probably miscopied the data. I'll edit.
